This is not about tutoring and you do not need to be an expert to be a mentor. Mentors are ordinary people who care about others and have a passion for supporting youth. They are great listeners who are patient, encouraging and non-judgmental.

Great mentors meet students where they are in life —nurturing, not fixing them, as they grow.

What does it mean to be a mentor?

It means being a positive role model in your mentee’s life.

Who Needs a Mentor?

Everyone needs a mentor. Yet, there are many high school students who do not have a positive adult role model in their lives. This fall, there will be over 100 students entering ninth grade at Winter Springs High School hoping to be matched with a mentor like you.
